Access log and Cookie information

The Vfrac project is conducted by researchers at the University of Bristol and the Vfrac application is hosted at the University of Bristol. Access logs
We automatically receive and save certain types of information whenever you interact with this website. We use the information to monitor website traffic and to assist with security and user experience of the website.
Information that we will automatically receive includes:
- Requested URL (Uniform Resource Locator)
- IP (Internet Protocol) address (this may or may not identify a specific computer)
- Domain name from which you access the internet
- Referring URL
- Software (browser/operating system) used to access the page
- Date and time pages were visited
Cookies
If your web browser allows the setting of cookies (small files stored on your device) then Vfrac may set the following (first-party) cookies:
- csrftoken - this cookie is used to prevent a type of security attack called a Cross-site Request Forgery (CSRF). The presence of this cookie is a security measure and helps mitigate against this sort of attack, we consider this a required cookie.
- testcookie - a cookie used to test if your browser settings allow the setting of cookies. This cookie is only used very rarely.
- sessionid - used to store session information for admin users only.
